MATLAB engine bridge

Scripts that connect Python to a running MATLAB engine, including the install path that usually breaks.

Updated

Context

Engineering groups rarely migrate from MATLAB in one step. Established models stay where they are while new automation is written in Python, and the two have to meet.

Constraint

The MATLAB Engine API for Python is installed from inside the MATLAB tree, which is the step that fails on a fresh Windows machine and quietly blocks everyone who needed the bridge.

Contribution

I wrote a small set of scripts that demonstrate the engine connection from Python and a PowerShell installer that performs the engine-API installation without manual path archaeology.

Approach

The repository keeps the working example and the install path together, so the bridge can be reproduced on a new machine rather than reconstructed from memory.

Outcome

Existing MATLAB models stay usable from Python automation, and the setup step stops being the reason a migration stalls.

Evidence

The public repository holds the connection example and the installation script.
