Magnetics Virtual Builder

Turning schema-defined magnetics into inspectable 2D and 3D engineering geometry.

Updated

Context

Analytical magnetics data becomes easier to review when it can be turned into drawings, meshes, and three-dimensional models.

Constraint

Core, bobbin, winding, and gap geometry must remain consistent across FreeCAD and CadQuery while slow end-to-end CAD tests stay practical for contributors.

Contribution

I contributed a two-dimensional drawing engine, winding and core rendering fixes, C-core rotation support, documentation, and tiered full-pipeline tests.

Approach

The builder consumes shared schemas and offers interchangeable CAD engines. Fast checks remain in the normal feedback loop while slow pipeline tests are explicitly classified.

Outcome

The toolchain gained stronger visual inspection, clearer documentation, and more reliable generation across magnetic geometries.

Evidence

The public repository contains the CAD adapters, drawing engine, tests, tutorials, and shape catalog.
